
Steve
is the founding and managing partner of Adams & Petersen, CPA’s,
LLC. He has been in public accounting since graduating from
Weber
Statein 1988 and has extensive
expertise in the areas of auditing, accounting, consulting and taxation.
While at
Weber
State, he was heavily involved
in many areas of student government, and in legal and political issues
impacting the school at the student level, including being appointed as
the school’s Supreme Court Chief Justice. He also took third place in a
state-wide business law competition during his senior year.
Steve is a long time member of the
AICPA and UACPA and he is actively involved in the Davis Chamber of
Commerce and local community groups. He is also the founding member of
Pronet of Layton, LLC a non-profit professional network marketing entity
that promotes the growth of the business members of Pronet. Pronet of
Layton, LLC also donates thousands of
dollars to needy families along the Wasatch Front every year.
Steve’s professional background and
experience as a CPA includes working with businesses in all areas of the
construction, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, fabrication,
outside-sales, distribution, medical, dental, legal, professional
services, franchising, development, real estate, natural resources,
multi-level marketing, trucking, transportation and software industries.
He recently appealed a specific audit position and personally provided
information in a non-formal hearing directly to the commissioners of the
Utah State Tax Commission involving the Tax Commission’s state-wide
practice of auditing and assessing sales tax on certain automated car
wash transactions, resulting in the complete abandonment of the State’s
ability to continue to audit and assess sales tax on those transactions.
He works extensively with companies to provide them with help in
Financial Statement Audits, Reviews, and Compilations, Corporate and
Individual Taxation Issues, Internal Control Procedures, Forensic
Accounting, Fraud Detection Techniques, Estate Planning, Like-Kind
Exchanges, Strategic Planning, the Purchase and Sale of Business
Entities, Divorce Situations, and overall business consulting.
Steve’s life away from the office
includes spending time with his wife Christie and their four children.
He enjoys distance and mountain trail running and has completed three
marathons. He also likes riding his Harley motorcycle, weight lifting,
hiking, camping, boating, basketball, coin collecting, reading and
martial arts.

Garyhas been a partner in the firm Adams &
Petersen CPA’s in
Laytonsince 2001. He has been in public
accounting for 18 years and enjoys the connection that accounting has
to every aspect of our lives. The firm is a full service accounting
firm for individuals and businesses from start up to very large
corporations. The firm has a very comfortable but professional
atmosphere designed to allow employees to thrive and clients to receive
excellent service.
Gary
has experience with a large

Lakefirm and a small
Ogdenfirm prior to joining the firm
Adams and Petersen CPA’s. He was educated at
Weber
State
Universityand continues a
relationship with the accounting school and currently has two children
that are students at WSU.
He is very involved in the community
and believes everyone should “give back” to the community in an
appropriate manner and at some point in their lives.
Garyis a past Chair of the Board of
Directors of the Davis Chamber of Commerce. While serving in the
Chamber he has been involved in everything from Legacy Highway to Hill
A.F.B. spending, creating UBIDS a liaison program for government
contracting, creating Davis Cable 17, a PEG cable channel owned by the
Davis Chamber, and currently serves as the Transportation Committee
Chairman. Through his community involvement is a current Honorary
Commander with Hill Air Force Base in the Logstar Program.
Gary
also serves on the
West PointCity council and has done for six
years. As Councilman has enjoyed shaping the future of a fast growing
community and solving issues related to
West Point’s growing pains. He is also a
member of the North Davis Fire District Board, a special district that
provides fire protection and ambulance service to the communities of
Clearfieldand
West Point.
Gary
’s hobby is to spend time with his wife Carolyn and four kids, and to
occasionally spend a few minutes cycling on the quiet rural roads of
West Point. He recently completed the LOTOJA
bike race that goes from
Logan
Utahto Jackson Wyoming 206 miles in one
day.
