J.D. moved his CPA practice to join the firm Adams & Peterson CPAs, LLC where he works with wide variety of the firm?s audit and tax clients to include several non-profit organizations. Prior to joining A&P, J.D. worked over 7 years with one of the largest local firms in Salt Lake City and 3 years as an income tax and compliance auditor for the state of Utah. He also gained further governmental accounting experience during his two years as the state revenue accountant.
J.D. holds to two Bachelor of Arts degrees. He graduated from Hamilton College in 1989 with a degree in government and from Weber State University in 1994 with a degree in accounting. J.D. later graduated from Utah State University in 1995 with a Master of Accounting. J.D.s practice has focused on construction contractors, automobile dealerships and a variety of small businesses throughout the Wasatch Front and Wasatch Back. J.D. also works with medium and high net worth individuals in preparing annual tax filings and year-end tax planning.
J.D. is active with Wasatch Front business organizations and is an active member with the Utah Army National Guard where he currently holds the rank of lieutenant colonel. He is a member of the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). J.D. is active with the Business Networking International?s Layton's Top Gun Chapter.
